Akadia Community Care is a specialised nursing service and registered NDIS provider (4050018792) that provides support to individuals, their carers and service providers. 

With an experienced team of registered nurses, Akadia Community Care are able to develop, deliver and provide the ongoing monitoring of care plans (including requisite staff training) for a participant with complex care needs.

Ann Nitschke

As Managing Director of Akadia, Ann has had a career focused on the provision of high quality, personalised support to those who are aged or have a disability.  Ann is also a diversional therapist and holds a Certificate IV in both Disability and Training and Assessment.

Karen Pearce

Karen is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in the disability sector, in community nursing and in acute and clinical care environments.

Karen is devoted to providing excellent healthcare and prides herself on paying attention to detail and bringing a caring smile to patients of all ages and needs.  Working at Akadia enables Karen to provide quality healthcare to people in their own homes in a friendly and supportive environment.  

Outside of the office Karen is quite the artist and enjoys making the most amazing mosaics.

Katrina Meara

Katrina has extensive experience in acute hospital care, community nursing and aged care.  Katrina has a particular interest in both dementia and palliative care.

Kylie Nichol

Administration Officer – Community Care

Kylie’s role is to assist with Community Care enquiries along with supporting the Community Care Nursing team.

The thing that she values most about working at Akadia is knowing that she is part of a supportive and compassionate team who values integrity and strive to achieve optimal outcomes for clients through high quality support and care.

Kylie has two young sons who love outdoor adventures, and spend most weekends going for bike rides, bush walks and playing at the park.

Renee Wright

Renee is an Enrolled Nurse with experience in community nursing, palliative care, dementia and acute care.

Renee is currently studying her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Southern Queensland and enjoys being able to apply her real world experience to her studies.

Renee is passionate about supporting people in their own home through a person-centred and holistic approach. She values the role she plays in the lives of her clients and aims to always be approachable and friendly.

Juanita Lalor

Juanita is an Enrolled Nurse and commenced working at Akadia immediately on graduating from her Diploma of Nursing in 2023.

Juanita has found her passion in community nursing at Akadia and enjoys working with her regular clients to ensure they receive optimal care. She enjoys the rapport and connection she has been able to build with them all and appreciates their trust in her.

Juanita has a special interest in wounds and prides herself on the success she has experienced in the would care she has provided.
